RCPV Tsunami Fund Donations Refocussed for Long Term Development

Dear RCPV,
We (RC Greentown) did not have to use any of the money we collected to
purchase immediate relief items as we received so much of items in kind.
We kept the money safely and now are using it for the long-term school
building project which is the official request from D 3220 sri Lanka. We
have been approached to rebuild one school out of the 149 destroyed and
this one school is coming close to RM 1 million! With all the
contributions received (including your club's)and a top up from District
fund, we have managed to raise RM 100,000 only. This will be presented
to sri Lanka during Governor's visit there next week.
I need RM 900,000 more!
Anyway, when the school project is successfully completed, all
contributors, no matter how small will be listed in a plaque for
eternity and your club will be mentioned too! Now you know exactly where
your club's contribution went : this particular school will educate
hundreds and thousands of children for generations to come.
On our return from Sri Lanka I will report the details in the may issue
of the BC
